This one: I enjoyed it a lot. Non-stop action from the beginning. Excellent movie. Not one dull moment.

1408 review

Posted on Jun 26, 2007

The movie, as a whole wasn't bad at all. In fact, I was scared. This film was a challenge to make. I know, since I'm a film maker in my own right; however, I give them props for making such a hard thing to accomplish scary. John Cusack delivers a gripping performance to a somewhat monotonous character, Enslin. Great acting.

I'm going to see 1408....... I doubt it will be scary. I've seen it all. It's scary that it's never going to be scary. But I'll tell you guys what I think.

Evan Almighty. (Worth Watching)

Posted on Jun 24, 2007

I was kind of hesitant to see it at first; however, I got to see anyway. It worked for me. I expected for it to fail in my eyes, but I actually had a good laugh. The humor was tolerable and it didn't insult me at all. The characters were strong and it made sense in the end.  Not an oscar winning kind of movie; however, it is entertaining. And you can't beat movies that actually entertain.

Evan almighty.....

Posted on Jun 21, 2007

This movie will actually do decent at the box office, only because it had a predecessor: Bruce Almighty. It is the sequel to the Bruce Almight saga. The makers of this film investor in the Character of the quirky but yet misunderstood journalist. In this installment, he wins congress; however, things change when God gives him a call. This is sure to bring laughter, an indication of Stever Carrell's natural ability to make people laugh. This is going to be an interesting one. I'm going to see it tomorrow most definitely. Or Saturday, if everything works out as planned. Cheers.

Still trying to find that -

Posted on Jun 21, 2007
One good film that's going to sweep me off my feet. I stumble even more everytime I try to look harder. The days of art is gone now in the movies. All is about commercialization. Everything is about the money. It's sad to know this, but what can you do? Nothing. I'm tired of all this really good trailers and all in the end, it leads to nowhere.  I need a miracle. Is there a good film maker out there who can save the world of entertainment. I hope so.

Television series DVDS

Posted on Jun 20, 2007

I've noticed that there has been so many former Television series being converted into DVDS. And you know, the crazy thing is that people buy them by the bundle. I myself can't help myself looking for a good 'ol favorite show on DVD. I just bought one: The Great American Hero. I couldn't help myself.

There hasn't really been any good new shows on television lately anyway.

Any television show any of you recommend? I love comedies and drama. Anything?

What's wrong with movies these days?

Posted on Jun 16, 2007

I think it may have to do with the fact that they might be running out of good writers. Ten years ago, movies were much different. Demographics and target audiences block the art of writing for many writers. That's what I think.....

Subject: Names on your cell phone! please read - very important

Important info. about names on your cell phone!
2007-06-16

Someone sent me this, thought I'd share it!
>
>
>  This is a new one(?) ...
>
>Be careful how you list names on your cell phone!
>
>This lady has changed her habit of how she lists her names on her
>mobile/cell phone after her handbag was stolen. Her handbag which
>contained her mobile, Credit card, purse...etc.... was stolen. 20 minutes
>later when she called Her Hubby, from a pay phone telling him what had
>happened, hubby says "I've Just received your text asking about our Pin
>number and I've replied a little while ago."
>
>When they rushed down to the bank, the bank staff told them all the money
>was already withdrawn. The pickpocket had actually used the stolen hand
>phone to text "hubby" in the contact list and got hold of the pin number.
>Within 20 minutes he had withdrawn all the money from the bank account.
>~
>
>Moral of the lesson: Do not disclose the relationship between you and the
>people in your contact list. Avoid using names like Home, Honey, Hubby,
>sweetheart, Dad, Mom etc....... And very importantly, when sensitive info
>is being asked thru texts, CONFIRM by calling back.!!!!  Don't just give
>the data freely!
>Also, when you're being texted by friends or family to meet them
>somewhere, be sure to call back to confirm that the message came from
>them. If you don't reach them, be very careful about going places to meet
>"family and friends" who text you.

Fantastic 4 Movie Review

Posted on Jun 16, 2007

Why the Fantastic 4 review.
Fantastic 4. Ha? What was fantastic about it? Nothing special. If you've seen the first one, you've seen the second one. Once again, they tried to make the movie look too cool; however, story-wise, I absolutely felt nothing for the characters. Besides the talented Jessica Alba and the new pretty actress of whom I have yet to remember the name of, Fantastic 4 fails to be fantastic. At least to its promise.
Indeed, I was entertained. But, besides all the schemes and funny jokes that they attempted in this movie, it fails to deliver to its promise: The defeat of Van Doom was way too easy, easy indeed that, it makes the audience wonder: "If it was that easy for Van Doom to be defeated, then what's the use of me sitting here?"
As to how he was defeated, I will not give that out.
I will not give out spoilers. I wouldn't dare do so, since, I, being a film major, and a novelist/ screenwriter, I am too familiar with spoiling it for everyone....
You will not feel cheated in the end and the rest of the film. In fact, I was entertained. But, to give it a raving review, I wouldn't give it that much credit.
It's worth at least taking a girlfriend/boyfriend out on a date. The special effects are spectacular; however, I must warn you guys not to get too caught up with all the theatrics.

Did you know?

Posted on Jun 14, 2007

Did you know that the average American sees 3-4 movies in the theatre a month.? I see more movies than that in one week.  Money is no object, since I'm a film-maker in my own right. I am honored to suppot the film industry.  I am all too familiar with the sweat and guts it takes to make a film.

Transformers

Posted on Jun 13, 2007

There's a lot of buzz about the upcoming blockbuster "Transformers". I could see why; however, I predict that it will make money, but in terms of great story-telling, this movie will fail by the mere fact that the creatures apparently tried to make it look too cool. And we all know what happened to "Spiderman". Too much COOLNESS. And we, the audience, feel that there should have been more. The only reason why "Spiderman", for example made money, was it already had a following beforehand. The same thing with "Pirates and the Carribean". This films had films prior the release of its latest installments. That is why studios would rather spend their money on films that already had following rather than films that is new in concept. Unlike Pirates and Spiderman, Transformers is the first film. I wouldn't be surprised at all if they are already planning the sequel. The "Coolness" factor is going to be in the movie; however, special effects isn't everything when audiences will say, "There should have been more." This feeling will be reminiscent to what we felt upon seeing "Spiderman" and "Pirates of the Carribean".

BUG

Posted on Jun 13, 2007
Please, warning. This is the worst movie I've ever seen, next to master of disguise. This movie is so bad that it makes Hostel 2 look good. What in the world were they thinking. This bakes the cake of bad movies. I just wanted to puke. Yuck!

Hostel 2

Posted on Jun 13, 2007

I know this movies has been out for a while, but I just want to warn people who are at the least thinking about seeing it, please, don't. Save your money and look forward for another movie. Hostel 2 brings nothing but violence, disgusting violence, with you, as an audience has nothing to gain. This is by far one of the worst movie in the last 2 years.

A movie worth watching

Posted on Jun 11, 2007

Go see "Surfs Up", a total new approach to animation films. It's about a penguin who wants to become a great surfer like his idol "Big Z". In his search for greatness, he encounters many obstacles: Ridicule and laughter from naysayers. It is up to him to find that greatness within him to prove everybody wrong. An inspirational film despite its new approach. I give this film a must-see for parents and their younglings. Just see beyond its new approach to animation films and it's definitely worth a matinee ticket. I was inspired. I laughed, I cried, a great film, since who wouldn't rout for the underdog anyway.
